I received The Noise by James Patterson and J.D. Barker from Little, Brown and Company via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

As soon as I saw J.D. Barker was involved in The Noise, I snapped up the chance to read an advance copy and dove right in without even bothering to find out what it was about! I must say I really enjoyed this method of reading the novel, I had no expectations so everything was unexpected.

I loved the emerging doomsday plot and how it evolves throughout the novel. There were some great developments that I didn’t see coming and they really built the suspense well.

There’s not a lot I can say that won’t give away some of the most awesome plot points in the story, but I enjoyed the pacing and the themes throughout.

I recommend The Noise for people who enjoy atmospheric, science fiction doomsday media like The Stand and A Quiet Place.
